We all sat down to figure out what Ruth can say.

At 19 months, Ruth can say (pretty closely anyhow) the following:

She can sign:

that we can remember.

Eddy loves Star Wars also.

He had an elaborate plan to create SW VII with “like … 20 friends and we can make costumes and everything!”

From my desk, I can look out at the living room couch and the T.V. This gives me chance to work at the computer and watch the kids watch T.V. after breakfast before Eddy goes to school in the morning.

Yeah Yeah, I know. Horrible parent, rotting brain … got it.

Sometimes I’ll look up on the IMBD whatever they’re watching (we are pretty picky about what we let them watch. No Dora or Sponge Bob or anything). I noticed one of the characters on Hi-5 had a credit as “Princess Leia.”

whaaa?!?!

So I went clicky

It’s a great Star Wars tribute. Student-film feel, short. Well worth a watch – if you are a fan.

“BOOO”

“Ruth, do you want me to read that book?”
“mm hmm.” [nods]
“I’m cooking right now. Can Eddy read it?”
“mm hmm.” [trots off]
“Eddy, could you read that book to your sister?”
“Why should I?!”
“‘Cause that’s what good big brothers do.”
“Oh… OK.”

the mic on the camera’s not so good, so turn up your volume a little to hear them.

Eddy convinced me to go for a picnic on a beautiful sunny day in the park. There was still snow on the ground, but it was definitely getting soggy.
The boy and the dog took a walkabout while Ruth sat in the snow and ate fistfuls of it. Then, to get moving, I put her on my shoulders …

As you can see, she alternates from cutesy wootsy to “DOWN! DOWN!!” demanding.

I need to remember to take vid in higher resolution….
